Spanish 1b

Last week, we took a little break and watched the movie Moana with Spanish subtitles after taking our big Lec 5 test. We also began learning about how to use direct object pronouns in Spanish.

This week, we are continuing to learn how to use direct object pronouns and are starting to learn our new Lesson 6 vocabulary on clothing and market words.

PARA HACER (To do:)

TBD. 4th hour – retake of the Present Progressive part of your test is on Tuesday, 3/28 – study on Quizlet! Also finish DOPS worksheet if you didn’t in class (also due Tuesday)

Last week, we took a little break and watched the movie Moana with Spanish subtitles after taking our big Midterm test. We also began learning 2b Lec 1 vocabulary on sickness and medical words.

This week, we are continuing to learn our 2b Lec 1 sickness and medical words, and starting to learn how to form the Imperfect verb tense.

This week, we are review everything about Lesson 5 vocabulary on vacation words, weather and emotions, the verb estar, the Present Progressive verb tense, estar with emotions and conditions, and using the verb estar vs. the verb ser.

This week, we are discussing how to use Double Object Pronouns in Spanish. We are also learning new Lesson 9 “Celebrations and Stages of Life” vocabulary and learning how to use the words Qué vs. Cuál. We are starting to review all topics related to the Midterm that is coming up.

This week, we are continuing to talk about the past using irregular preterite verbs. We are also reviewing how compare objects and activities and tell which is “the best” or “the worst”, etc. (superlatives) and reviewing how to talk about foods in Spanish and which phrases to use while visiting a restaurant.

PARA HACER (To do:)

Our Grammar/Vocab quiz on the Irregular Preterite Verbs is on Wed/Thurs, March 1/2. Students should study English to Spanish on Quizlet and do the practice tests on there, making sure to actually type the answers out.

For the weekend, students need to finish the Double Object Pronouns worksheet

Vhlcentral online activities were due Monday (4th hour – fixed by Thursday). Due Monday: The online practice questions with Lec 5 vocabulary. Click on the Spanish 1b Class Info page of this website and click on the link to the questions. Write down the answers on a sheet of paper and bring it on Monday. Use your vocab list to help you.

Spanish 2

This week, we are continuing to learn concepts in Lesson 8, which includes continuing to talk about the past using more irregular preterite verbs and discussing food and visiting a restaurant. We are also continuing to learn about the unique food of the country of Spain.

PARA HACER (To do:)

Extra credit Spanish food is due on Wed/Thurs for 5 points. No other homework, except to study on Quizlet continuously, especially those Irregular Preterite Verbs.
