The Spirit Committee is a group of 7/8 students dedicated to promoting school spirit by planning and hosting dances and grade level events. They also promote spirit in the community through planning and implementing service projects and by taking time to volunteer.

Community Service Projects we have implemented in the past:

Food Basket Donation Drive for Thanksgiving – collected food from the BCS community and filled baskets for families in our own district who were in need during these rough financial times

Heart to Heart for the Homeless Drive – collected non-perishable food items from 7/8 families to make over 175 brown bags of food for a Neighborhood Service Organization homeless shelter in downtown Detroit. BCS families across the grades also contributed many household items and clothing to donate to the organization to give to their residents who recently had moved out of the shelter and were able to gain a residence. These items helped make their new house a home!
